Curriculum: Scenography 2011/2012



Module Description
General theoretical subjects Module passed student:
- Knows more important major problems and research lines of contemporary philosophy and art, design or architectural theory;
- Is orienting in the history of art and cultural theories;
- Can implement general knowledge of the field of humanities in the context of art history;
- Has basic knowledge for conduction and drafting of independent research
- Has knowledge and skill corresponding to the objectives set in the subject programmes of the chosen subjects.
- Is possessing the knowledge supporting professional development as part of base education in the interesting field of research as well as general skills needed for successful professional work.
Theoretical subjects related to speciality Student having passed the module:
-knows the main trends of theatre and film theory, theoretical concepts and categories, and can discuss theoretically on the themes of theatre and film
-can describe the best of world dramaturgy, has passed basic course of work with drama/script, and can write a shorter drama text or script
-understands the problems of contemporary theatre and film art and can speak or write on these themes, if necessary
-appreciates the importance of speciality theory in the assessment of artistic creation, conducts independent research in the most interesting speciality themes
-has speciality-ethical attitude in personal creation and personal means of expression
-can interpret personal creation as well as creation of the colleagues and relate the current moment with social/political situation
Practical subjects relating to speciality Student having passed the module:
-has studied practically the basics of production art through participation in the production process and is using the acquired knowledge in personal creation
-can work with practical site-specific production projects and projects completed in artificial environments individually as well as in a team
-has complete and detailed understanding of various stages and methods of preparation of the production process
-understands the contribution of artist-director into the production project in cooperation with staging/film director, actors, operator/lighting artists etc
-can integrate professionally into the production group, solving occasional problems and tuning to common objectives
-is ready to initiate innovative production projects involving cooperation partners from own as well as related specialities
Optional subjects
Master Thesis Student having passed the module:
-submits Master’s thesis integrally and in compliance with the set requirements
-demonstrates his/her knowledge in comprehensive Estonian language and in legible manner
-presents ideas in innovative and attractive way
-drafts verbal and visual material of the Master’s thesis and submits it to the commission for assessment in aesthetically pleasing form
-is following the principles of speciality ethics in making references in the Master’s thesis and application of illustrative material
-is ready to continue studies in Doctoral programme upon request
